HELLO!!! I am horribly aware of how much i've neglected my little baby blog for over 2 weeks now. This is inexcusable and please accept my apologies! I have been super super busy over the last fortnight, what with my birthday and starting uni again and normal work and looking for new jobs etceteraaaa. It's all been pretty stressful and i've had a few mini meltdowns but i'm hoping that's all out of the way now! To give you all a mental image of my recent activities, here is a quick catch up through the medium of instagram!
So: my birthday was lovely so we shall start with that! I had to get up pretty early as my mum and boyfriend were in work so I wanted to open pressies and stuff before they left for the day. My boyfriend was an absolute babe, he came round with bagels and smoked salmon and Philadelphia and fresh orange and made me a delicious breakfast, which was so cute and thoughtful. He also brought me a massive- I mean HUGE bouquet of a dozen red roses with lots of 'nice foliage' as he had requested from the florist haha! That was also so romantic and unprecedented, i've never really received proper flowers before from a beau!
So yeah I got some lovely blooms, and then I opened all my other presents and cards which were mostly baking books and other baking equipment. My mum got me a heart shaped silicone mould awwwww! Jack also got me Nigella's new book Nigellissima which I was very pleased about. And my sister got me a dead cute Cath Kidston apron which was a great idea because I never wear an apron in the kitchen and always end up with mess all over me!
Anyway, then my Jack led me off into the front room where he had some 'secret presents', at which point I thought he had got me a vibrator for my birthday or something! There were three presents all wrapped up in brown paper and string which was also really cute and quaint, which I never would have expected from a man so brusque and bolschy as Jack lol. I sort of knew what they were before I opened them but I opened them before I reacted but my surprise presents were.......
A DOG BASKET AND ASSORTED DOG GOODIES!! HE'S GETTING ME A LITTLE POOCHY!!!!!
This, my friends, is a dream come true. I am a simple girl at heart, all I really want from life is a cosy home, a nice family and a dog. Basically. Jack had sort of mentioned getting me a dog as a joke two weeks beforehand but we had kind of brushed over it because as much as I want one I need to think of the logistics of it all. But he has got me all this stuff as a promise that over the next 6 months we will get in touch with breeders and start saving for a puppy, which he will buy me as a christmas-anniversary-valentines gift sometime at the start of 2013! wahhhhh! As you might be able to see from the picture, it will be a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that I choose, which is my favourite breed and one I know everything about from pining for a little dog of my own for so long. I can't wait till I am united with my future pooch, it's given me lots of motivation to continue saving like I have been doing, and also it's a really good way to get me to push on with uni work so I can dedicate all the time I should do to our little puppy.
Anyway, dog related excitement aside, the rest of my birthday weekend (it was more like a week), was also brillo. In the evening, me and Jack went for cocktails and Pizza Express, which was dead nice and low key, just what I wanted. Then on the Saturday me and my mum and stepdad went to the Royal Exchange in Manchester to go and see A Country Wife, which was a nice exciting and bawdy 17th century play which was banned when it was released for being lewd haha!! It was totes hilair and really cultured as well, what more could a MA History student ask for? Then we went home and had a delicioso curry and some wine and just relaxed. Over the week I also saw my friend Frankie for drinks and nibbles which was lovely, and had lots of nice cuddly nights in with Jack, which we will have to get used to if we're gonna take on the parenthood of a little pup! Not that he's actually thought that far LOL.
I can't really write more because like usual I have to dash to work and have lunch and get ready etc so must dash, but I promise I will blog again tomorrow with all other news!!
